We have just been notified that we have made the shortlist into the final of the Bradford film and animation competition. Here is our entry for this year!
Last Friday KS1 held a Geocaching event in school. Parents were invited to to attend with their children. The parents first had a short training session on how to use a Garmin GPS device to find a camouflaged treasure box. They then took their children and went in groups alongside other parents on a treasure trail. Mr Whitehead had a very busy day setting the trail out first thing in the morning and then collecting it in at the end of the day.
There have been many positive comments from parents and children so am sure this will become an annual event.
Last week the children came to school in their dancing clothes. Each class took turns to have a dance lesson from Mrs Worlley who is our resident expert! All proceeds are going to Macmillan Cancer Support. Thank you all!
Last week Year 1 went on a trip to Kenya. They made passports and boarding cards before travelling to the airport. Before boarding the plane the children had to go through security with their bags and documents. They then had to listen to the passenger safety announcements. Here are a few photos and videos of their trip.
On Wednesday 22nd April we celebrated Earth Day. We thought about and discussed all the things we love about the Earth and how we can protect and look after it. We designed posters, planted seeds and vegetables and even made globe biscuits. Each KS1 class planted 4 seed potatoes. I wonder which class will produce the most potatoes!! We will also shortly be commencing our recycling and composting initiatives.
